What are the Benefits of Purchasing Second Citizenship?

What are the rights of person purchasing Second Citizenship?

Any-one who purchases a second citizenship from the Commonwealth of Dominica has the same rights and responsibilities as some-one who obtains citizenship by birth

You can of course exercise voting rights.

Are there any restrictions on buying land?

There are no restrictions on buying any amount of land in Dominica if you purchase citizenship.

 

How long will it take to get a second passport?

From the time the Financial Services Unit receives your due diligence it should take 4 to 6 weeks.

We can forward your Due Diligence Report before papers are submitted to the Unit so that valuable time is not lost.

Visa Free Travel

It is possible to visit some 100 countries without the need for a passport.

Am I required to live in Dominica?

No you are not required to reside within the country although with its wonderful clean rivers and waterfalls and lush rain forest you may well prefer to reside there. Learn more about buying real estate in Dominica here.

 

Fingerprinting

If you find difficulty in getting fingerprints in your home country the Financial Services Unit have made arrangements with the Police of the Commonwealth of Dominica and you can get the fingerprints done in Dominica. You must allow enough time for this to take place before interview.

When are Interviews held?

Interviews are held on the second and last Friday of each month.

Do I have to travel to Dominica to conduct my interview?

No. If  Government has more than 1 client the  Government will conduct the interview in London or New York.

From January 14th 2011 they are looking to extend this service to Hong Kong and Dubai. Updates will appear here when this happens.

I do not speak English well, can I get an Interpreter for my interview?

Interviews are conducted in English and answers will have to be given in English. However, if you need an interpreter this can be arranged. Government has a list of interpreters. This person can be present at the interview and if a question is not fully understood will translate. The Applicant however must respond in English.

Will my spouse have to be interviewed if we are applying for the Family option?

At the present time whilst it is preferred that both the applicant and spouse are interviewed this is not essential.
